I mean, it’s kind if suspicious how He-Man lives in a giant skull, and he’s utilizing the power of graySKULL. And he is wearing pretty much the same clothes as Skeletor...they are even both rocking cross emblems. I’m just saying.pic.twitter.com/7kTv6DGKsy

The Grayskull castle looks that way because they wanted to create a toy castle that looks both intimidating and generic (not really, though) to be inhabited by either villains or heroes (you could change the flag on the castle from one to another).

That's because the toy tooling is the same to save on cost and Mattel made the cartoon. Product came first, then story.
