I have to ask (if you know/can answer), These games were very different in terms of style, setting, mechanics... but they had memorable characters and music... so why didn't we see any kind of continuation or influence afterwards?
The mainline Pokémon game teams and Colosseum / XD teams were completely different...I’m the only person who has worked on both, as far as I know. Different creators have different sensibilities, I think that’s why the resulting games feel so distinct from each other.

I just think it's a huge shame we never saw the music or settings or characters again, be it in Smash backgrounds, references in other games, cards or animated media... I don't mean to pry or sound entitled but it truly felt like the series was stepped away from ASAP afterwards
