I've long been curious. What do they look for in a Pokémon card illustrator? Does the Pokémon company accept submissions of any kind?
I’m not sure how they go about selecting illustrators generally. In this case they wanted artists from Game Freak to draw the cards, so we all submitted examples of our artwork, and I was one of the artists that was chosen, happily.
