I SO look forward to that day. Then again, MARIO Cuomo promised us high speed rail and here we are 30 years later 🫠

I look forward to the day when we will have real high-speed rail in NY and will laugh at the memory of trains taking 3 hours just to travel 130 miles

1/2 As chair of the Senate IGO Committee - where legislation to repeal qualified immunity sits - I am also opposed. Hold bad cops accountable, yes. Split second decisions, however, should not be unjustly weaponized against good cops.

Great to have a visit in Albany from Cultivating Healing & Justice Initiative (CHJI), a prostate cancer awareness & advocacy group based in Middletown. CHJI brought along survivor Richard Benjamin to help get me up to speed on their work & local needs. chjiss.org/events

PASSED! The Senate once again passed my bill creating a wholesale import program for FDA-approved prescription drugs. Such a move is key for driving down prescription drug costs for NYers & improving access to important therapeutics without padding the pockets of big pharma.

While Ava is hard at work back home - chalk art coming to a sidewalk near you - I’m up in Albany this week to consider a Court of Appeals nomination and push for a package of prescription relief legislation.

Team Skoufis welcomed newly-assembled Team Rolison for a smooth handoff of must-knows, must-dos, & constituent service cases in Newburgh/Montgomery, which now reps. Though on other sides of the aisle, we're committed to partnering with Sen. Rolison on behalf of OC.

What is there to negotiate? They gonna default on the country’s debt if their hostage demands aren’t met? Want to cut the deficit? Do it in budget negotiations. These aren’t public servants, these are very dangerous clowns.

MCCARTHY says he has asked BIDEN to sit down early and begin to negotiate on the debt limit.

The trauma caused by human trafficking is pervasive and far-reaching, yet is often difficult to spot. By arming our service workers with the tools they need to identify & address instances of trafficking, NY is leading the way on stopping this horrific form of modern day slavery.

We can deal with both wealth discrimination and provide more tools to courts to keep our communities safe pre-trial, including flexibility on “least restrictive” means. They are not mutually exclusive. I look forward to working with on this and many other issues.

So there’s a debate on the @NYSenate floor for a vote on a bill(s) bringing about election reform. Sen. @danstec just said he’d like to make his concerns clear to those watching from home. I’m working from home saying…I’m those people he’s referring to! Lol

1/3 Two years ago, American democracy faced one of its absolute darkest days. The disgraceful actions of a group of sycophants, seeded and provoked by many of our elected officials sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution, attempted to overturn a free and fair election.

We’ve worked hard to build a populist, people-first brand and ran a persuasion campaign that left no voter behind, including Republicans. Over 7000 Zeldin voters crossed over for us. If Dems want to reclaim the NYS ‘burbs, we need to stop talking exclusively amongst ourselves.
Quote Tweet
What happened in this district? It was Trump +3 and had to be super pro Zeldin. The Dem just doing way better with Orthodox voters couldn’t make up the full gap between the top of the ticket either so why was he so good?
