Are those 2 statements not saying the same thing? The Senate is controlled by GOP and the House by Dems. In 2018 voters elected a Democratic House to be a check on Trump, and that shouldn't mean accepting the McConnell-controlled bill as is w/o using leverage to make it better!

And in this case, that means the EXTREMELY REASONABLE amendments should have gotten a vote. giving $$ to the Trump admin w/ a pinky swear promise they'll do better instead of legislated accountability measures is morally wrong when we're talking about detaining children in camps

I still don't see any measures of accountability in the Senate bill except more money allocated to the same agency that perpetrated the abuses. There's not a single penny actually allocated to helping the children.
