  2. Was Moi a tribalist? Not in the sense of exclusion. He saw Kenya as a country comprising of various ethnicities and tried to ensure his Government represented all regions of the country - that is how Fares Kuindwa, a Pokomo, became our head of public service ...etc!

  3. TODAY I salute with honour our former President, DANIEL ARAP MOI who has just slept at old age. Let historians worry about legacies but in the hearts of millions his memories will live on for many years. He shaped national life for over 2 decades. Rest in God's eternal abode, HE.

My unsolicited advice to the new Governor of Kiambu, my friend James Nyoro, this business is strictly about the people of Kiambu. Not about you or the Governor you have just replaced. A spirit of humility and magnanimity will take you far! I wish you well.

What happened to Moses Kuria in Kitui BBI rally is wrong & unacceptable. The Constitution we want to change belongs to ALL Kenyans regardless of divergence of views. We rejected intolerance of KANU in 1980s/90s, and will do it again now. Let BBI be a uniting NOT dividing factor!

I bought honey from a super market chain sourced from a honey rich region of the country. But alas, IT IS MORE SUGAR THAN HONEY. We try to promote local products, they fail us. Super markets sell fake products, purportedly qualified by Kenya Bureau of Standards. Why is all this?

I CONGRATULATE my friend James K. Nyoro on his assumption of Office of Governor of Kiambu County. I remember holding a heated debate with some of my friends from Kiambu in 2017 when they were BLINDED by a political wave about who should be their Governor. Wisdom always informs!

No meaningful nationhood agenda can be realized in an atmosphere of heightened political rhetoric, maneuvers and counter-maneuvers. Elders and clergy are cautioning all sides of political divide, let us heed their counsel. For the umpteenth time, abandon this us vs them attitude!

GOVERNORS from Narok, Kajiado and Samburu counties: HOLD all inclusive consultations on matters that have far reaching consequences. As other counties bring their professionals on board - to give in depth views, insights, you shun them! You perpetuate needless marginalization!

Political contention, pull and push for power will almost inevitably result in rendering any constitutional or legal reforms futile. No sooner do we achieve the said reforms than new arguments arise for more change...Integrity of heart is the real issue! Leadership is our bane.

Jubilee vs Jubilee vs ODM led BBI process vindicates protagonists of this process -that it is all about 2022. Are Kenyan leaders (read politicians) incapable of magnanimity? For once a people driven process? Must it always be about underlying motives, maneuvers for an end?

Here is my take on envisaged CONSTITUTIONAL changes: let us NOT re-invent the wheel but rather REFINE what we have and deal with teething problems. On national leadership, let us CREATE the 2002 and the NOW moment through an all inclusive leadership TEAM to inspire the country.

Today I celebrate the people of Kenya for love of country, resilience, hardwork, and always believing for a better tomorrow, the let down by leaders notwithstanding. Let us support this optimism and each one of us making his /her individual contribution.

Opportunity beckons us to respond comprehensively to the 9 ISSUES informing the BBI, use LESSONS learned in implementation of Constitution 2010 to remedy problematic areas, to give rise to an overall people RESPONSIVE governance structure, and efficient delivery systems!

In view of the nature of large crowds at rallies, maybe BBI team need to do brochures summarizing key issues or questions (for every Meeting) the general public should appreciate - i.e. ensure circulation of summary points is made available to masses. Just a suggestion.

BBI will pass, not because of us but because of the next power dispensation. Whoever can mobilize the most will have it. The masses will follow. We will ask questions even at risk of being irrelevant. Not because we don't support unity, but to encourage fidelity to the PROMISE.

I WARN President Uhuru and Deputy President Ruto of Kenya that their personality clashes are dangerous. The civil war in South Sudan started becos of similar personality clashes between President Salva Kiir and the Deputy President Rick Mashar. Please RECONCILE!!!!

I am loyal to the Republic any time. Whatever the emerging political considerations, civil servants and other public officials, no matter their offices, must respect the Office of the Deputy President. I am positive William Ruto will come through all this just fine.
