The most egregious aspect is the bait & switch committed by the social media corps. They originally painted themselves as open vehicles of communication with few restrictions besides explicit threats & such until they cornered the market. Isn't this what anti-trust laws are for?

You should investigate all those companies who stole them from the original founders and kicked them out. that includes facebook, twitter, reddit and more. It is AN UNUSUALLY high number hard to explain by random theft, which occurs sometimes.
