    A) That isn’t what Ashley Judd said. B) That works for me too, but not as well. For some reason I can detach from it more by designating it all as a lie, not some entity that’s lying to me. If it works better for you the other way, change it! If it doesn’t work, ignore it!

    I feel like a lot of the misunderstandings could be fixed by changing the first sentence “Depression is a lie” to “Depression lies to us.”

    Misinformed & dangerous how exactly? Depression lies to us. That’s one of the things it does. If the phraseology doesn’t work for you, that’s understandable. Then ignore it. But it did provide me comfort when Ashley Judd said it as it did thousands of others who read it here.
