Most of the directors control what the previs is - it’s another tool like storyboarding. All previs for the Guardians movies is based on my storyboards.

Yeah that makes more sense than marvel giving a movie on previs to a director and saying “Make this shot for shot.” One of the main reasons these movies are so good is because the directors have a genuine passion for this and are able to have fun with it.
A perfect example of that is Taika Watiti on Ragnarok. Most of it was improv but had a overall story they needed to tell, that's why I love these movies
Also doesn't take into consideration Pre-vis for alternative scenes while the script and story is still being developed, I guess? Like Hulk busting out of Hulkbuster in IW was likely pre-vis'd, no?
