This is the most comprehensive explainer of the history and tactics of Alt-Right trolls—appropriately deemed information terrorists in this piece—whose purpose is to divide us through “frenzy and fear, intimidation and violence” as they reshape America.

Rob Monster of Epik, the guy hosting Gab in the name of free speech, just appeared on an antisemitic podcast hosted by an open white nationalist. You might say "uh, obviously," but Monster has really tried to appear apart from that stuff until now:

Cool. You can start by not giving a safe space to Neo-Nazis who want to commit genocide. Did you think praising David Duke on your podcast with Eric Striker would help with the "divisive hostility and misdirected hate," Rob?

Ah yes, let's be courteous to all those "very fine people" who want to commit genocide. That must be the Christian spirit you keep talking about!

Your company made sure Neo-Nazis kept their safe space on Gab. Now your CEO is promoting The Daily Stormer by doing a podcast with one of their contributors. I've gotta ask . Is your CEO a Holocaust denier, or is he just okay with having friends who are?

Turns out enablers of Neo-Nazis are kind of fans of Neo-Nazis! Who knew?!

The AOC dancing video was a successful SOCMED active measure. The number of sophisticated bots around it (majority pushing AOC’s tweets) is enormous. The whole thing was designed to focus attention on her. You heard me. Stop playing into horseshoe fake oppo.

At this point in the game - 2+ years in to the propaganda machine operating in full view for all to observe - it is complete malpractice of journalists to treat the Far Right media as "ignorant" or "crazy". They are not buffoons. They know exactly what they're doing... /1

A reminder not to play Putin's game. He takes a hostage and pressures us to negotiate. Don't do it.

Then you appreciate and support someone who works for Russia's propaganda organ RT, who denied chemical weapons attacks in Syria, who smeared rescue workers, who mourned the death of Assad's generals, and who endorsed regime bombing of civilian territories.

I strongly encourage you to take NOTHING the Kremlin says about the Whelan case, officially or through its mouthpieces, seriously without independent confirmation. You are otherwise drinking with a firehose.

Also: There's no evidence Paul Whelan is wittingly involved in any plot. Idle speculation about what he may or may not know is equally unhelpful. Stop it.

"I have high confidence that Paul Whelan is not an intelligence officer," former CIA deputy director Michael Morell says. "The United States does not send intelligence officers to Russia without diplomatic protection, so I'm pretty confident he's not."
