This is a terrible cognitive strategy for success. Look at some of the biggest startup CEOs...Musk, Kalanick, Zuckerberg, Jobs, Gates, etc..do you think they assumed others were smarter? No. They assumed *they* were smarter - that they could do incredible things. And they did.

If you’re saying, “the more capable you believe yourself to be, the more likely you are to take action” then I agree, but that’s not what my tweet is about. I’m only suggesting that people think harder than most when planning and work harder than most when acting. That’s it.

Instead of 'work smart, not hard,' this is more like: first work smart, then work hard

“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face”. Strategy for a new project with high uncertainty is “useless”. You most likely can’t outwork an incumbent that has thousands of employees. But you can learn faster than them.

How does this go along with this quote of yours? “If you haven’t started, then taking action is more important than finding the best strategy. If you’re already taking action, then ensuring you’re working on the right thing is more important than working harder"
