Doing the small consistent daily habits day in and day our is what get you the big results you’re looking for. Many give upbbecause they want instant gratification. “Get rich in 30 days.” “Lose 30 pounds in 2 weeks.” Doesn’t happen that way. Everything in life is a process.

It’s not either or. Focus on habits & systems, but complement them with inspiring goals.

I think the message is do what works best for you, but something that has come out of Atomic Habits, IMO, is that you can lose momentum, progress, and motivation if you focus on goals too much.

I can’t know what constitutes “better” unless I already know what I want, which indicates that I have some kind of outcome in mind. Yes, to you then use that to establish habits, but you can’t just cut out the goals entirely.

Fair point. I guess it's more about the framing of those outcomes. "I want to be this kind of person." is a better goal than "I want to accomplish this thing."
