Still trying to figure out how running a marathon is about intensity and not about consistency?

Running 26.2 miles in a single day seems intense to me. High intensity events generally require longer recovery periods and it takes people a week or more to recover from a marathon. Intensity: Running a marathon. Consistency: Training for a marathon (i.e. don’t miss workouts).

Running a marathon is nothing BUT consistency. Sprinting may be a better example

Running a single marathon is just a 2-4 hour performance, that's hardly consistent when you look at a larger timeline like a month or a year. Running for half an hour or an hour on a daily basis for many months, that's consistency.

Intensity: -join a protest/cause when there is a big hype around it Consistency: -fight for the cause when the hype is over
