Respectfully, Dr. Cantor, I have never advocated for one stance or another on the question of desistance rates. I don't consider my beliefs to be contingent on the rate of desistance, & I believe it's possible they're accurate. I am just presenting one explanation for the data.

You may as well offer creationism as one explanation for the origins of the universe. But is not up to science to disprove such claims: Rather, it is up to the claimer to show the evidence for the alternative.
