Political Correctness was never like this. It was moral equivalence. These youngsters have been marinated in self-hatred and anti-western mania. They literally do not believe our society has any value. This is new.

I wouldn't argue that rules of etiquette can function in this way. Your tweet is phrased, however, to imply that this is their primary purpose, and that those who use them this way do so with that intent. I'd argue that etiquette rules evolve to serve a many of useful functions.

I'd furthermore add that, while political correctness IS primarily a status-signalling device, "preserving the status quo" isn't part of it.
