        Well it would make sense for a company aiming to both "organise the world's information" and make it "useful" to keep tabs on that data to ensure it remains useful and organised.

        Google's mission is: "The only thing that can actually threaten us is what the US Govt did to MS. Ensure we placate our bureaucratic overlords so they don't unleash the DOJ hounds of anti-trust on us". I've always viewed Google's PR through the lens of US v. MS lawsuits.
