Coding education can help its recipients. My point is that most of the media blindly praises these companies and parrots tech's claims/lobbying that we need more coders when it's really that the companies want to decrease coders' bargaining power.

Corporations do not care about their workers. They will only do this as long as their interests are served.

Basic economics. Currently a coders market, if supply overtakes demand, the shitfaced will have more leverage and average salary will decrease.

If it didn't have those benefits, it would be fiscally irresponsible of the corporations to fund such programs. The question is whether that's in the public interest, which I don't think the article does a good job answering.
