Correct. My son was missing for two hours, his mom called the police, they came out right away and within three hours he was found and back home. Thank you for this post @JamesADamore . Hopefully people will take this to heart.

Silencers on the end of gun barrels muffle the sound of the shot very little. Air vents in modern buildings cannot fit a baby, let alone someone the size of Bruce Willis.

It may depend on the State, but I was an LEO in NC and to my knowledge it never was. The amount of extra work law enforcement has to go through because people believe things they see on TV is astounding.

Unfortunately an astounding number of people are "missing," and the truth is law enforcement does not have the resources to investigate even a fraction of them, especially because many of them want to be missing.
