I've always followed a wide range of people and have eclectic political views. What shows I was on was more a function of who would have me on (I reached out to many on the Left).
I mean, the only thing I can do is take your word for it, but even assuming you did: It seems that conservatives would love to talk to you, since the platform you left Google with was squarely aligned with their agenda.
Whereas I imagine approaching progressives was seen (by them) as a more antagonistic form of outreach, at least at the time when the wheels were spinnin' hot. If your goal was to listen to left-leaning arguments, I've yet to see it - I will grant, I haven't followed you closely.
The most common response I got from progressive was that they didn't want "to give a platform to bigotry." I've had a lot of private conversations with feminists and others that disagreed, but were willing to talk.
