it's been just milkshakes for a while. it works because it's non-violent and embarrassing. so there's no need for it to escalate, and you suggesting that it might is just you trying to whip up a moral panic.

Look up Pym Fortyun, a Dutch politician, had cake thrown at him, a few weeks later murderered in the street. This is a decade or so ago. Once the line gets blurred, it doesn’t stop.

No thanks. People throwing milkshakes are throwing milkshakes because they embarrass not injure. People seeking to injure others have completely different motives and should be judged accordingly.

In a civil society with liberal democratic values, you debate. You don’t abuse, assault, throw things at each other. You debate. You win debate through strength of your argument, anything less is akin to fascism. It’s what immature society’s do, not educated, evolved ones.

Nobody said it’s mature. It’s a public shaming that’s designed to shame people publicly. It’s not akin to anything but that, certainly not physical harm or fascism or lack of wit. Calm down.

Shaming? For having a different opinion? Let’s all be automatons and no have diverse thought. Like I said, once you step over the line, what you may find acceptable, another takes it up a notch. You advocate milkshakes, then you’re responsible for the next level.
