What if they are growing 10% a week over week for 3 months straight but live in Wyoming and literally cant raise a dime. Most of your deals are referrals, and let’s say this person has no 1st connection in common. What do they do?

And do what? Walk down sand hill road with business cards? I’m not trolling, I’m literally curious what someone in this position should do. So they hop on a plane..where do they go once they land?

Got it. I think that's flawed thinking but you're not the one who needs to worry about that. Its the investors who don't have access to inner circle deals. Regardless, congrats on new fund!

For sure, that's awesome and I'm seeing more of that too. We have work to do, but it doesn't mean there isn't already progress. Thanks for being a great voice in the world of startups and VC!

Thanks. Please don't take my words as pompous. Trying to be real about what gets it done.

I promise I don't. I just think there needs to be a paradigm shift in how VC and access works. its not one VCs fault or reason it's like how it is. As someone somewhat on the inside virtually, but on the outside physically, I see things through an interesting lens.

It also comes from my personal experience. You have people saying that breaking in is hard but once you're in, you're part of all this economic mobility. Pretty effed up imo. If you are building a rocketship in Iowa, VCs should be taking a plane to there, not vice versa.

Map all the Bay Area accelerators and time trips around their demo days - invited investors are very accessible during these. All them for three referrals. Set up in accelerator co-working spaces. Put out strong content weeks before. Network with complementary founders for refs.
