2024 may be the last time a Senate seat in California becomes available for decades. The politicians sitting on the list of Sen. Dianne Feinstein's replacements aren't exactly the youngest, so it may be now or never for them to advance their careers

As a NYC native I completely approve of the Empire State Building being lit up in the colors of the Eagles. Also with the idea of PA invading NY as early as tonight. Whatever as long as I don’t have to go to work tomorrow

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene remains upset with me for reporting this story a month ago, has refused to answer my questions in the hall since then. Asked her tonight how long that would last. “The rest of your life,” she said.

One thing I noticed as a stock market idiot who read a lot of sell-side equity analyst notes about tech in 2022/2023 is even analysts themselves often seemed to imply "well, large-scale layoffs don't necessarily make sense.... but investors sure would like them :)"

Interesting to see SHEIN outbidding Amazon (I think) for top placement in Google's sponsored shopping links for certain brands — and that Shein is just selling generics, which I believe does affect ad placement?

It seems inevitable that generative text AI models will get blended into journalism, but this is an excellent example at how to do it badly: 1) Don't be transparent 2) Use text AI for tasks it's not great at, like math 3) Let major errors from the AI slip past editors

When a pair of YouTubers travel from LA to Kolkata to prank Indian call center workers they claim are scamming US victims, who is exploiting whom? Fantastic feature by on the internet culture phenomenon of "scambaiting"

everyone kind of makes fun of both NYC and SF when the bay area has a big weather thing since NYC never shut up about weather ever but no one appreciates the midwestern urge to express no opinion about the weather except to ask if it’s hot or cold enough for ya
