Ok, points for that at least. Still starting from a negative several thousand deficit with me, so don't take that as "he's good now" or anything, but it genuinely exceeds even the higher expectations of better times

Who predicted that training drivers and staff would lead to this kind of report of “”? Because people rely on misinformation and their own biases? I’ll wait.

As someone who grew up in Bloomington, I know the census calls it the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington Metropolitan Area and a couple city councilors kept trying for "Tri Cities", but Lakeville is a new one

News websites need to figure out a better way to display content. Making readers angry is no way to present news.

hint as to the issue in question: the modern national primary and caucus system, and having an organized calendar, dates to 1972, but Iowa specifically, like many others, was holding caucuses to select candidates ever since it was a territory

having one of those "debating whether to quote-tweet the completely factually wrong statement about the history of caucuses and potentially get in a tiresome argument when I actually need to sleep" moments

When ya'll are through running around with your hair on fire, there is a Presidential election coming up in nine months. That is plenty of time to register a shit-ton of voters, take over your local Dem party apparatus if it sucks, and make workable plans to GOTV.

(The correct answer to the question of course is "he can but shouldn't until the federal government's borrowing cost equals inflation".)

just think, if the Iowa mess finally leads to the early states rotating like has often been proposed, some years from now we'll finally have examples of the very specific ways in which each state is politically terrible for ALL of them, not just ~4!

last year the same thing happened to me. i'm lucky - i work in media, and i got my story told in the local papers and immediately reversed their decision. but as i noted in this interview - what's a person without press contacts to do?

The thing with Chrome’s change regarding SameSite cookies is that without knowing about it in advance, this is precisely what app behaviour will look like - “weird”

The Democratic National Committee only exists *at all* by action of the Democratic National Convention, and only has the authority the Convention gives it to run things in-between sessions of the Convention.

Correct. The DNC rules committee governs things up until the convention, but A) they'll go along with even a presumptive nominee and B) the actual Convention Rules Committee can overrule or reverse almost anything once it exists. Convention overrules Committee in all respects.

A bunch of people are QRTing this laughing about how the Democrats ran into problems because they used an app and now are just going to use a different app, but it doesn't say literally anywhere in the article that they're using an app in Nevada, the headline author added that

    3. Biden has benefitted from the delayed drip-drip-drip release of results, which has hidden the real story of Iowa: the collapse of his support. But donors & party leaders are paying attention and it's going to have an impact. More thoughts here:

Yes, a public university paid neo-Confederates to sue them. If you think that doesn’t sound right, wait until you find out about the $2.5m they agreed to send 15 minutes after being sued.
