Hours as an RN are not the same as hours as an NP or hours as an MD--don't you agree? Otherwise why not continue as an RN?

I do not agree with that statement. While working as a nurse, one is literally they eyes, ears, and frontline clinician caring for patients. We assess, gather data, anticipate MD orders, implement standing orders, and monitor response. /1

See. I was semi-ok with it till this diagram. Saying that APRNs are just the best of physicians and nurses combined is flat wrong. Each has their own clinical role they fill. You trying to shoehorn APNs with MDs is what is worrisome about mid-level pushback.

That's not true. I love my MD/DO colleagues. They have vast areas of expertise, the NP is clinically focused in the area they will work. I would have loved to rotate with or go precept with various specialists, even on my own time. I speak w/specialists all the time to learn.

41K+ hours of working as a flight attendant doesn’t make one qualified to fly a plane. Irrespective of how much they have studied or how efficient they are. It is just 2 different things. #medschoolmatters #trainingmatters #chooseaphysician

I am so sick of being compared to a flight attendant....seriously. Can we find something new??? I am providing care to patients, and not at 30k feet either. Neither do I get to travel the world, serve cocktails, manage in-flight safety, or keep people calm while flying.
