These young Black sistas being forced to work in prisons would come to work scared, angry, or crying. It was a sad sight for many years. What was unsaid was that young white women on welfare rolls hardly ever found themselves in a forced prison job position
The US government was building prisons at an alarming rate, someone had to work them. These Black young sistas on welfare were the involuntary victims. Overnight prisons went from mostly men employees to women -- many Black.
