Perhaps a more important question might be: when comparing Trump and Biden, who is more likely to endorse prison and sentence reform IN THE FUTURE? Elections are about the future, and while we look to the past for hints, recent past might be more important than distant past.

What's your evidence? Given that both Biden and Harris are deeply implicated with the development and perpetuation of mass incarceration, a real reform would be a "Nixon to China" phenomenon. And the same with Trump. 1/

I guess I see a willingness to move when the culture moves. In fact, while neither candidate has fully apologized for their past actions, they have made statements that imply a recognition of the need for police and prison changes. Sort of like Obama evolving on LGBTQ issues.

Honest question: what (if anything) has either Dem said on the subject? And if they have, has it been in the form of concrete campaign promises, or two in the form of vague "fight for" rhetoric our Dems are enamored of?

I have spent 20 years teaching in prisons, and am on your side. Nevertheless, I find your attitude extreme, while at the same time knowing that, if I were in your position, I'd likely agree. But no, Hitler is Hitler, fascism is fascism, and it isn't to be accepted.
