2010 up until 2018 approx 4000 prisoners were released due to sentencing reforms & sentencing interpretations in which in my opinion were motivated due to the state of South Carolina being unable to properly staff &control the prisons. Their response decrease prison population
It should be noted that prisoncrats will never be able to increase staffing the way it was in the 90s. People no longer want to work prisons because they consider it a scum job, more opportunities, or they fear the prison world. It all works out for prisoners interest either way
