Prisoncrats and reformers changed and normalized the usage of the words "inmate" and "correctional facility" over "prisoner" and "prison" long ago. Those words left ppl thinking prisoners were now being taken care of in the best of circumstances #psychologicalwarfare

In Ontario's "correctional" facilities, every imprisoned person is called an "offender" despite that 69% are being held pending bail or a trial and are legally entitled to the presumption of innocence.
"Offender" is synonymous with "inmate". Such language crippled other definitive words of substance like "Political Prisoners"

"Offender" should only be applied to those who have actually committed an offence. It is not at all euphemistic like "inmate" can be. The presumption of innocence ought to prevail until the offence is proven in a court of law.
