but the part about the locks is for sure true, but there was a lot more from staffing ratios to collusion b/w the CO's and the folks inside...and then there were conditions of confinement and a lot of other problems

The locks are never an issue as everyone is pretending. If everyone is concerned about locks, ask states to go back to the old system where prisoners had their own keys and real lockers to secure property

I agree to they should go back to the old system, bit I also think - even for a prison - they are running a dangerous and poorly organized horror show.

From all reports inside, SC is running as it always has, with the exception of less guards, programs, and lengthy prison lockdowns. Solution is to reduce the prison population and shut down a few prisons. The only shutting down this state ever did was the closure of work releases

My point was that they should ask folks inside or who were incarcerated in SC too. I am glad whistleblowers are finally coming forward, but let's balance the narrative
