ALERT: Receiving word that South Carolina Prison at McCormick Correctional Institution is demanding the finger print of every visitor. This is drawing outrage from visitors who were told "be fingerprinted or no visit". Any thoughts?
We are unaware of visitors being finger printed at any other prisons in the country. If there are other locations please inform us of those areas? #BurnThePrisons
What makes the finger printing disturbing is that a child was crying during the process of being finger printed/scan by the pigs at the prison. No law enforcement agency should be allowed to coerce visitors into giving up prints for a visit. Southern prisons!!!
Never heard of this!! Why? When visitors go through a back ground check before even being approved then must present ID on visit!!
Neither have we ever heard of it anywhere else. JLS wants to be sure its not already ongoing in other states. We have also received word that the prints are being sent to a data base. If the visitor has a warrent, the local police will be called
That’s awful. NYC jails “ask” visitors for their fingerprints, but people don’t know it’s optional. For those who do know it’s optional, and feel safe pushing back when told to provide fingerprints, are met with threats to cancel their visit and totally false information.
Being coerced to provide finger prints to a law enforcement agency? That has litigation written all over it. These prisoncrats treat visitors as if they have been convicted for violating the law
As a volunteer I was required to give my fingerprint every time I visited Riverbed Max in Tennessee. Not sure if visitors did as well. This was a change implemented without warning. As was a full body scan. We complied as we had a larger obligation to the men inside.
Wow! Seems this has been already "tested" in a few areas. We are hearing it was implemented without warning in SC as well
