Lawyers and other advocates specialize. Knowing the law is the easy part (though too many lawyers are terrible at legal research and not knowledgeable). Knowing how the judge, court clerk, and local juries will react to particular law and facts to make a plan takes experience.

The more specialized and experienced, hopefully, the deeper knowledge possessed. Asking for a good lawyer or other advocate may not deliver the results you hope as they may be much less effective outside their home turf.

I would highly recommend Andy LoTempio or Joel Daniels in the Buffalo area. Andy more for trials. Joel if you’re trying to get best deal. Hope this helps someone, but always do your own research. I’d still be rotting away if I didn’t put in my work.
