I can say the following from both personal experience (as someone who once attempted to support his organizing) and observation: 1) he does not support abolition. 2) he exploits movements for personal, professional & monetary gain.

I am sorry that the Douglass legacy will likely be tainted by what I believe will ultimately be a financial debacle. And a huge waste of resources that could be directed to legitimate movement work.
Indeed. That's troubling. And it's also at the expense of another category of people specifically, "The Black population" anti slavery legacy.

Definitely. I hope I am wrong. But it's basically a pattern going back over a decade with him, and to my knowledge there are no outliers. No organizing successes despite hundreds of thousands of dollars raised (if not more). No sustainable organizations built.

And you know I do not speak out about many folks, who are trying to do something positive. But I do not believe his intentions are pure.
