Solitary is largely the most popular punishment for disobedience that can be given in prison. It would take a LOT of time and work to get that conversation even starting. The organizers are starting at a good place. They can attack more issues the more momentum they gain.
We support work on solitary, absolutely. And you're right it is torture and inhumane. But we've seen prisoncrats ability to change the name of solitary or create more types (control units, administrative segregation, etc) when one type is "banned."

Ultimately, these were the demands settled on by the prisoners organizing who set out for this action. Can't tackle all issues at once.

They put you in solitary not only for disciplinary reason, it is also for not being a rat or tattle tale. So you are punished for being beaten to a pulp and if you tattle you will be beaten by the thugs again bc guards do not do their jobs.

That is true; prison officials are always trying to one-up on prison policies and procedures. Solitary confinement causes erosion of the brain a deficit of physical maturity and increases abandonment issues. 15-day limit
