you can also press F5 anywhere in notepad to insert a timestamp without the .LOG part
Learned this a while ago in @samilaiho's dojo. Write .LOG in the first line of a #notepad file. Inserts a timestamp each time the file is opened. I just leave this here...pic.twitter.com/yCDHfotV8S

Sort of similar functionality in one note - use Alt+shift+F to insert current date and time.

To expand this: To enter the current date in
#Excel just press "Ctrl+;" and for current time you use "Ctrl+Shift+;"
