Hey Jade, both my parents were in care. My mother-in-law is currently in a dementia home. I have the greatest respect for what you guys do. I couldn’t do it. Trying to rank people I find abhorrent but in terms of value, carers are worth their weight. Thank you for what you do.

Yes Jade, this exactly sums up how I feel too. In NZ we had a landmark decision that now values carers, & acknowledges the skills required & they are paid much more. Its interesting that in a market economy, it took legislation to pay for a job most people don't want to do.

It's a busy job where you constantly multi-task & a good care worker will usually work with many & get to know & support them physically & emotionally as well as provide dignity in life & in death.This is hugely important yet so undervalued. It can't all be trained & is priceless
