I’ve been part of teams tendering for govt contracts for years. It was a real struggle to get started, not because of the financial requirements, resource related requirements or statutory approvals, but because of a requirement to demonstrate ‘previous sector experience’.

I agree. In this case there was no competition & no public notice. So the question is, who invited them to submit their proposal & why were they chosen at all. IS there someone who could do it better?

We need more warehousing too. I can start a company today and an advance of £13m from government will let me get started. How do I apply for the cash please?

We haven’t got a spare bedroom but for £13 million we make our son and daughter sleep on the master bedroom floor 😉😂 We even install a fridge to keep stuff “cold”* * no warranty shall be given that there is sufficient energy or energy cost isn’t unaffordable.

UK Govt is placing responsibility for important, urgent, Brexit related sea freight measures in the hands of a start up company that has no capital, no vessels and has never operated sea freight facilities before. Makes perfect sense. Good luck with that.

I have a start up business called, Blockchain Borders 2021. We can solve the border issue by 2021. Just need £50m seed money, this will make Brexit achievable & deliverable. (Payments in Euros only)
