I'm so proud to share this cover story today- a reflection on what it meant to be a youth activist all those years ago, and what happened when the cameras go away.
The kids shouldn't have to save us.
I hope you'll check it out.

If you were a true champion of gun violence prevention , you would call for a vote on the House-passed Assault Weapons Ban before the end of this Congress.
Do what your title suggests, Leader Schumer, and lead.

This is heartbreaking and horrifying. I’m praying for those who were killed and those who were wounded.
We must stand up to hatred against LGBTQ+ Americans.
We must continue to work to end gun violence in America.

. you have played a major role in elevating anti-LGBT+ hate rhetoric and anti-trans lies while spending your time in Congress blocking even the most common sense gun safety laws.
You don’t get to “thoughts and prayers” your way out of this. Look inward and change.

You should be able to go to clubs and not have to worry if you will be shot.
We need to confront the consequences of how deadly hate is when you have a gun.
We must honor the victims of Club Q on #TransDayOfRemembrance by banning assault weapons now.

After hours waiting to speak to Sen. Schumer to urge him to call a vote on the Assault Weapons Ban, we were forced to leave.
But this is not over.
We need to continue to unite democratic senators who promised to protect their constituents— THIS is how they can keep us safe.

We know that our lives don’t fit into the GOP’s extreme agenda. That’s why we can’t squander opportunities like the historic vote to ban assault weapons by the House this summer.
The Senate must act now while there’s still time.

We are inside Senator Schumer’s office because we cannot keep waiting for a vote on the Assault Weapons Ban when people are dying every day.
Action needs to happen NOW.

The role of young people in this election cannot be understated. Turnout delivered on many of these races.
By 2024, Millennials & Gen Z voters will outnumber voters who are Baby Boomers and older, 45/25.
We are beginning to see the political impacts of that generational shift.

We lost fewer seats in the House of Representatives than any Democratic president’s first midterm election in at least 40 years.
And we had the best midterms for Governors since 1986.
