If we don't get them, we'll be jobless and broke on our saggy sofas, wearing our "I survived the AI apocalypse" tees, eating instant ramen, and forced to endure a never-ending parade of AI-generated sitcoms while corps laugh all the way to the bank.

In the long term, if AI terms are not agreed upon, the erosion of the writing profession will lead to boring, soulless, and homogenized stories bc unique voices cost money.

As human-written content becomes scarce, the richness and diversity of storytelling will suffer. AI-generated content, while technically proficient, will lack the nuance, emotion, and cultural context that human writers bring to their craft.

Without AI protections for writers, the industry will face a seismic shift. As AI becomes more sophisticated, corporations will 10000% choose to prioritize efficiency and cost savings over human creativity.

Hollywood execs know this. That's exactly why they won't budge on AI protections for writers. When AI becomes "good enough" to write scripts, countless writers will be left in the dust, their livelihoods jeopardized.

AI can't write scripts well at all. And I feel people will use that as proof that AI stipulations for writers aren't needed/AI alarmism is overblown, but it's not. It's underblown.

For me I would try to network and meet likeminded artists/creators and then go from there—just keep on trying to make work that is fun and focus on manageable goals. twitter.com/vidsthatgohard
