Unfortunately Poland was betrayed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill at Yalta Conference in 1945 as well and it hurt even more.

The US and UK's betrayal of Poland during the uprising and during the meetings at Potsdam and Yalta are two of the biggest betrayals that came out of their alliance with Stalin.

Of course. Let the Nazi's battle it out with the AK (Armia Krajowa) then we'll roll in and take over unopposed. Then after the war we'll label all remaining Polish underground fighters as Nazi's too!

That's actually not what happened. The red army was in no shape or position to aid the uprising at the time. And they of course had no need to weaken the AK. They had a Polish government all set up, ready to go to work. Why battle the AK when they had Poles who could do it?
