This makes absolutely no sense?? Their initial flight training usually starts in Grand Forks, ND. A state with virtually no trees and lots of…wind. Tons of wind. Windy all the time. That’s why UND is the premier pilot training school

I live in Fort Worth. The winds here have been ridiculous for several days. I'm not saying Freedom Flu doesn't happen, but we have had some insane winds here, and this is AA's home base.

To be fair the winds here in DFW were some of the worst I’ve seen outside of a storm. But that shouldn’t be all 1000.

My 1pm from Ohare was cancelled at 9pm last night. Luckily I checked my email before going to bed. They told us “Weather” and no staff was the issue. From Chicago to LAX then PHX & no problem w/ wind. They just don’t have people. Lady at the gate said it’s become a regular thing

“Weather-related flight cancellations.”
It’s how gets away with not paying the hotel costs for rescheduling travelers who need to overnight for not just 1 nt, but sometimes several days.
