The space shuttle was a 35 year old machine, costly and has served its mission well. It was time ( I love space travel) hopefully we will get back to it in due haste. Privatization may make it not accessible so that our children will be able to go to space.

Concur, it had run its course. Now, let's go back to the moon, and stay.

The space shuttle was an over priced bureaucratic nightmare. $1.6 billion a launch vs $90 million for a Falcon Heavy.pic.twitter.com/GPf2GtYnPz

Way *WAY* too dangerous to fly by commercial contract. 1-in-50 shuttle flights suffered catastrophic failure resulting in the death of the crew. The shuttle program needed to be replaced, but instead we spent 10 years doing nothing in the middle east.

We should have never stopped going to the moon. The moon and shuttles missions should have existed at the same time as they serve different purposes. Imagine where'd we be now if we never stopped either.

The space shuttle was a giant government boondoggle that killed 14 astronauts. We need to stop farting around in low-Earth orbit and get serious about establishing bases on the moon, Mars and elsewhere.

Totally agree! I’m in Cape Canaveral right now waiting for tomorrow’s launch. Kinda disappointed that Jack would make such a silly post as he did. Thought he was smarter than that.
