Goes to my previous point about helmet laws. The majority use common sense, and don't need legislation to instill it.

I live on the border between Missouri and Kansas - MO has helmet laws and KS doesn’t- I rarely see riders in KS wearing helmets.

I live in MA. State enacted seatbelt law. In/around '86, due to public involvement(and radio show host Jerry Williams) it was overturned by ballot. Soon after, politicians re-introduced law despite the will of the public, currently still in effect. Did I mention I live in MA?

Use of seatbelts in NH is a product of free people making personal decisions (arguably in their own interests) based on reliable information. Which is great. However, we don't need the State to mandate it-- all the nanny state laws have gone too far already in this country.

Mandating that people wear masks actually has more of a solid foundation as the act protects others (unlike seatbelt or helmet laws...more like no smoking laws to prevent second hand exposure). Drunk driving laws aren't there to protect the drunk driver.

I think it has a lot to do with how annoying they have made the no seat belt alarm in cars now and its harder to disconnect the sensor in the seat.

I made an error in an earlier post- Idaho does have a seatbelt law...breaking it will result in a $10 fine. Still no helmet law...which is essentially the same thing.
