Not really. If money velocity increases they can just tighten monetary policy to counteract it. What they can't do is replace supply chains.

What do you think will happen with the $600 a week Federal supplement to unemployment insurance? I think it would be crazy for the Republicans not to extend it. I don't think they realize how many of their voters are on it.

I know very little about macroeconomics, can an expert help me out? We've printed trillions of dollars and shut almost everything down. We haven't seen inflation yet, maybe because people are only buying necessities. Will the inflation kick in once we're open for business again?

We’ve been increasing supply to keep interest rates historically low; the interest rate is largely a reflection of American ambition. Even feeble returns enable dreamers. Expect prices to rise rather than just tread to previous levels; long term prospects diminished.
