An example of how the highly politicized environment has undermined the design and implementation of critical policy.

Getting the timing on what MA did is pretty important. If it was dialed back right around the Apr 21 date of that piece then we would still expect to see deaths in MA nursing homes (about 60% of all deaths in MA to date) from this policy happening now. MA is a hotspot, too.
-
MA cleared a nursing home out to make room for Covid+ ppl. They dispersed the pts prior to testing them first. At least one resident was Covid+ and quickly infected the nursing home they went to. Rumor is, other residents were sent out to other nursing homes in Covid+ condition.

60% of MA COVID-19 deaths were in Nursing Homes
-
And 21% of all cases in MA are nursing home residents and workers. But, MA set up covid only transfer homes. Not sure how effective that was, but a data point.

Didn't all the covid deaths start in a nursing home in Washington state????? Duh

-
Yup. This was one where everyone failed. If people want to attack the feds on one key item, it’s that they could have pushed states on this. No negative pressure or ways to isolate ventilation in these homes.
