Not unlike the US, China has slowly been making inroads into Indian commerce by buying shares of Indian companies below the threshold of mandated public reporting. The Indians are realizing that China isn't only crippling their supply chain, but wants to own their economy.

They had a land war in 1962. India apparently lost due to several issues. The war was on the middle of talks where China was laying claim to a lot of Indian Territory
