Commuting to work is a hellscape in America Our infrastructure is failing because the government is too involved in every aspect of it Meanwhile, the world's largest commuter rail system is the gold standard because it's mostly privately-runhttps://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/23/there-is-an-answer-to-americas-transit-hell-commentary.html …

Its almost like if a company is for-profit and privately-run, everything magically improves. Its amazing..pic.twitter.com/uPJc4OgjdO

And publicly funded, the best of both worlds.

You can do economically viable mass transit systems in cities with sufficient population density (NYC, Tokyo). (NYC's subway system was originally composed of privately built lines.) Current events have revealed a major downside of high population density however.

Tokyo is not the only one. The Bangkok BTS and MRT are also private and are amazing. (You also don't have station attendants cramming people into cars like sardines like Tokyo in rush hour)

Sorry but people down here are far too independent to cram onto trains full of germs and vagrants. We drive everywhere! Why are you advocating for trains all of sudden? Must have a financial interest.....

The railways are a mishmash of ‘privately run’ lines. They don’t work. Donny cut taxes instead of investing in infrastructure. It was a crooked deal all around. Commuter rail systems need regulation. Damn you dumb! #realDonaldTrump #News #JoeBiden @cspanwj #racism #humor
