They can’t save any money but I bet they have a smartphone etc. Pitiful.

smartphones are close to being essential in society today and they are pretty easy to obtain. $75 a month for a cell plan that includes a device is affordable and a necessary evil for many people

Jack. If you're interested I can tell you why. I was there BEFORE Obama. I had a great job. I had a nice IRA. I was hit HARD with one blow after another. And ANOTHER. Now this. I'm 63. My husband is 72 in poor health. Hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel now.

We had to refinance for crucial home repairs so we are seniors with a mortgage! I still have 2 years of a car payments left. WE BUY NOTHING except food. We are not making it anymore. I am truly scared. Nighttime is the worst time. All I do is pray.

I would never leave that much money just sitting in a savings account. There’s much better places to put that money where you can actually make money.

100K in a savings account can get ya 2-3% and is insured. I mean sure, you could buy gold, or bitcoin, or stock...but much riskier. End of the day diversity is where its at imho, but if you are still saving money a bank savings account ain't a bad option.
