Must-read from AP on how top China officials secretly determined Jan. 14 that they likely faced an epidemic, but didn’t announce warning until Jan. 20. That week without broad public actions aided the virus’ spread. AP got leaked documents — rare in China. https://apnews.com/68a9e1b91de4ffc166acd6012d82c2f9 …

Flashback to Jan. 23, 2020: Notice that because China was lying, they were allowing their Chinese students to fly to NY state and other locations for the new school year. We can correctly conclude some of these students were infected and spread the disease in NY and other placespic.twitter.com/Wk5uVO1oCI

If the people of America sue China and win, I wonder if we can force collection through withholding payment on treasuries that come due. Very dangerous precedent for our credit rating, but if constructed correctly it is a sound legal argument that shouldn’t spook others.

I think the January 20 "warning" was very weak, a "notice" at best. A family relative traveled from China the following week on vacation and knew nothing of the "warning."
