Probably has nothing to do with the government’s heavy involvement in healthcare and education.

College tuition had to go way up to offset the fact that the quality of the education has gone down.

How much of the college price rise has been artificially inflated by government grants and scholarships?
-
Guaranteed loans are the cause of cost increases. They artificially inflate demand pricing at the cost of unknown future earnings.

Sir, I see many comments blaming skyrocketing tuition and healthcare costs on government intervention. But the exact opposite is the case. Hospitals and public colleges have been starved of gov. funds for years. This is (partly) why the costs to the public have gone up.
-
This is def. the case at public colleges. Look at the UC system. State funding has been going down for yrs. From almost 100% to something like 20% over the last 30 years. Now they give more spaces to overseas students because they pay full freight. Domestic students lose out.

Crazy how hourly wage outpaced cost of living (housing, food, apparel) without once raising the federal minimum wage in the last 11 years. Hmmmmmm.pic.twitter.com/17ewvk0cY4
