The Captain should have been punished. He broke the chain of command. He leaked sensitive information about the readiness of a US warship to the press. He made his ship and everyone on it a potential target of opportunity by exposing a weakness.

SECNAV's letter says actions were underway, and the CO's superior was on the same vessel, and didn't hear about the letter til later. He panicked, and made a very bad decision exposing opsec

Jack knows better than this. His whole point was to say something that he knows was so stupid it would drive a
#Tweetstorm of traffic to his site. Confirms the bias I always had against any Intell analyst who only does four years and then punches out.
